Los Angeles, May 9, 2008: John Mellencamp's eagerly anticipated new album, Life, Death, Love and Freedom, produced by T Bone Burnett, will be released July 15 by Hear Music at Starbucks Company-operated locations in the U.S. and Canada as well as traditional music retail.

- The current issue of Rolling Stone magazine includes a brief preview about John's new album Life, Death, Love and Freedom in their Spring Album Preview. The piece includes a picture of John working on a track with producer T Bone Burnett and Little Big Town member Karen Fairchild. - John recently filmed a series of short features for an HDNet weekly segment entitled "Mellencamp: Thoughts Shared." The roughly three minute long segments, which also features brief original musical performances, run in random rotation at the end of HDNet's news and music programming, near the end of the hour and typically on Tuesday and Sunday nights.

Taped in John's home art studio in Bloomington, IN, the series finds JM speaking frankly about subjects ranging from farm policy, the voting process, the war in Iraq, racism, and other issues of concern in an informal setting.
